Interesting thoughts about kids books being turned into YA movies. Yesterday I saw a trailer for a new movie that blew my mind. "Hansel & Gretel, Witch Hunters". This movie, starring Jeremy Renner, uses the basis of the fairytale of Hansel & Gretel to create an FX laden darkly violent movie.
The Hobbit, on the other hand, I have never thought of as a 'children's book' but definitely YA. I am basing this on the thought that YA is age 13 - 18.

Am reading "What's a Dog For" right now, and it is a fascinating book. One that you may want to read with a highlighter in your hand. I'll be reviewing it soon for my column.
